What are the specifications of our whirlpool stylemaster 907675 heavy duty washing machine?
It's a top loader, and still works; we're considering getting a front loader.
Would like to know what the capacity (cubic feet) and energy rating is. Hotpoint are owned by Indesit and their own brand equipment is far superior in quality, longevity, price and most importantly, user-friendliness.
As for the dryer, I've always considered Creda the best as they specialise in them.
Miele, owned by Liebherr, are very good too but they are VERY expensive, quite complicated to operate and having very complex circuitry, tend to break down if the operations manual isn't followed properly. One problem with them is that after a wash cycle has finished you're expected to switch the machine off for one hour to allow the system to re-set. Failing to do this, eventually results in breakdown. Miele's are also very heavy, 90 kg or so, whereas Indesit's are quite light and Creda dryers have virtually no weight at all.
Finally I must mention Whirlpool. DO NOT BUY ONE. They are, without a doubt, the worst appliance manufacturer on the market. Nearly all their equipment is made in China, using cheap labour with almost no quality control and their after sales service is totally non-existent.
I worked for Currys for three years as a Customer Distribution Representative and in that time I installed countless washing machines and the ones that wouldn't work when installed and had to be returned to their manufacturers were mainly Whirlpools, Hotpoints, Hoovers (another lousy make) and also Mieles although to be fair these were mainly faulty due to transit damage because they're so heavy to lift, they get dropped and they break easy.
I never had any problems installing Indesits, they work first time every time.
I would also recommend Samsungs and LG's as good machines but they too contain quite sophisticated circuitry. They also tend to play silly musical tunes to tell you the wash is completed, which can become annoying over time.
The Creda dryer, being so lightweight, can easily be operated on top of the washer to save space. Vented dryers are best but modern condenser types are almost as good but do require emptying regularly.
One last thing VERY IMPORTANT. If you are installing the washer yourself make sure you REMOVE THE TRANSIT BOLTS because if you don't, when the machine goes into spin, it'll jump all over the place and smash itself to pieces. You wouldn't believe how many times I had to collect machines that had happened to in the three years I worked for Currys. I always told customers to remove them when I delivered but a lot of other drivers just didn't bother. Sometimes I even removed them anyway even though it wasn't required for me to do so as it was only a delivery not an install. I work for the home delivery side of Comet, and in my honest opinion stay clear of both, yes we deliver a lot of these machines but we also pick nearly as many up that have gone wrong. from an informed point of view i would recommend either Bosch, AEG, LG, or Miele, all other manufacturers just seem to out-do one another on style and technology but seem to forget performance and reliability, ultimately the choice is yours, hope this has helped in some way.

Also ask a proper retailer - you'll get nothing from the sales staff at Currys or similar. http://www.theappliancenet.co.uk/ are a proper shop and will give you impartial advice (and you'll often find they're cheaper than the high-street names!)

Also it's been highly rated in energy efficiency too. It has a cycle that's 15 mins, 30 mins and 60 mins plus all the others of course. Excellent!!

My whirlpool AWO/D 4305 washing machine continually has `Clean pump' warning light coming up. Help!!?
My Whirpool washing machine keeps showing the red `clean pump' warning light. What can I do to fix it? I have already been onto the Whirlpool website and followed their instructions to drain the excess water, clean the filter and check the pump is moving freely. There were two coins and something else tangled around the pump movement but I removed these. When I reset it though, it started off ok then showed the same light all over again. I keep pressing the start button and it does try to start up again, then just stops, with the light on. I am wondering if it could be anything to do with the door seal, which is a bit warped these days. I just haven't got round to buying a new one. But I can't see how it is related to that, really!
Please offer me some advice so I don't have to pay stupid money for a call out, in case it's a simple job that I can fix myself!

Fill the washer up put it in drain and lift the drain hose out of the stand pipe and look at the flow rate, if clear it will be strong if not take the pump apart agian and see if something else did not get caught. This light goes by time how long to pump out, may be the drain hose has a kink and some hoses have a check valve in them and junk gets stuck there!My whirlpool AWO/D 4305 washing machine continually has `Clean pump' warning light coming up. I think you still have debri stuck in the pump, take off both hoses on either side of the pump and check for a partial blockage, check the hoses too! Bra wires are a normal problem getting stuck in the pump, check your bras and see if all the wires are in them. Have a great day.
sometimes if there are things in the pump it can damage the pump so when it is cleaned out the pump is still damaged. maybe you need a new pump

Check the switch under the lip.....the one that is pushed when the lid is closed. There is a plastic cap that rests on the switch that is depressed when the washer lid closes. The machine will fill and pump, but will not spin without that switch pushed. I don't think Whirlpool has a repairman like the Maytag guy... so you are screwed.
I assume you have a top load washer.
There is a catch button near the switch that activates the washer; it's under the top lid. It must make contact for the washer to agitate. It's a safety feature so the machine doesn't operate in the open position.
Depress the switch and make sure it moves and makes contact with the catch. It's easy to fix yourself. They do wear out.
If the switch and catch are okay, you could have a problem with the spin tube or a broken belt..

Your belt is broken. A clutch drives the agitator or the pump ... since both stopped working at the same time I would check for broken belt. Pick one up at the appliance parts store or have a pro repair it.

If it is true and If it does not spin and agitate but it does drain then the problem broken or worn out motor drive coupling. If you are familiar with simple hand tools it's not a big deal to replace it. Brand new Whirlpool Washing Machine Does Not Drain?
After the rinse cycle, it just stops, and I have to turn the dial to the spin cycle manually for it to start draining. Also, there is only a trickle of water and it takes over a half hour to fill the machine. There are no blockages in the hoses, and the height of the hose to the pipe is 94';, the users manual says you're allowed a maximum height of 96';. Maybe we're cutting it too close?? Could this be a faulty pump in a new machine? This is our first washing machine in our new home we had built, so we haven't had any previous experience with a washing machine in our basement. We've contacted the contractor for advice, but in the meantime, I'd like to find out if it's something we can remedy on our own. I have a Whirlpool/Ultimate Care Heavy Duty Super Capacity Plus washing machine. At the last spin only right at the off position it makes this very loud noise. The clothes are not unbalancing the machine I did that. That has nothing to do with it. This noise is louder than that. The machine is level. I wanted to take the agitator out to check and clean. I took the top off then the part with the black seal on it off. I took the bolt out now I can't figure out how to get that one part out. It has like 4 tabs on the top. When you turn the agitator these pieces come out from the side of this part to lock the agitator. If you move it then they go back in. Does anyone know how to take this off.

I got this washer as a ';freebie'; from the person I bought a dryer from this past weekend. It's a good looking Whirlpool washing machine (model: LBR4132JQ1)
It appears to have the Timer Control device (what the large selector knob attaches to) jammed. I looked up the part new from Sears, and it's selling for $100. I see them used on eBay for $50 (part # 3946451).
I just called Sears to come out this weekend to ';diagnose and repair'; the washing machine. It's costing $75 for the repair call, and if I let them repair it, they will credit the $75 towards the labor/parts cost. Is this something I can easily fix myself, or is it a good idea to pay them to come out, diagnose it, and pay to have it replaced?
My other option was ';for $215, we will cover all parts/labor on this service call'; which I declined. The fact is, I can buy a new washing machine for less than $300, I don't want to get in too deep on this...

Call any appliance parts store, they should have access to the timer if they don't have it in stock. I have the ';Ultimate Care II'; model and for some reason, no water is coming in on the hot water setting but did on the warm setting, but even that has stopped now!

Make sure the hot and cold shut off valves are all the way on(ccw). If they already are, then turn the hot and cold shut-off valves to the machine off. Disconnect the hoses at the machine and see if the screens are clogged up. If they are, clean them. If not, a service person needs to be called.
if you have well water you might have sediment in your water. It doesn't take much to clog the screens. Here is what we did 1. had a whole house filter put on after the well pump. 2. Had a second filter put on before the hot water heater. Be sure to drain the sediment out of your water heater if you have one with a tank. (we have a tankless water heater now). If you have city water it might still be a good idea

most likely your brake soleniod has failed, this part activates the brake to stop the agitator from spinning, the brake soleniod is the large click noise when you lift the lid and the bowl slows down very fast.
this fault can be noticed by turning on the door switch manually and monitor the agitator and bowl if its faulty you will notice the agitator spinning fast and being thrown against the bowl. causes also alot of out of balance.Philips Whirlpool washing machine doesn't spin.?

Telltale signs of the coupler being worn or damaged are loss of or no spin cycle. check under your washer for black filings or debris. A new motor coupler cost about $20.00 at your local repair shop and takes about an hour to fix.
Here is a link to repair a Kenmore 90 series. Its not a Whirlpool but it will point you in the right direction. Whirlpools and Kenmore are made by the same manufacturer.

I don't know if taking the agitator apart will solve your problem. I had the same model Whirlpool washer, and nothing anyone did made any difference to the noise level. It washed and spun OK, but it sounded like a bucket of bolts. It also shook so much that it moved the dryer. That had nothing to do with an unbalanced load. Look under the washer. If you see little bits of black rubber under the washer, there is a part wearing on the very bottom of the washer. Mine done the same thing, then one day, it just stopped. I went online and found the part, and my husband replaced it. Take a look at www.repairclinic.com. I am sure that it will take you through a list of questions, that might help you.

I got this washer as a ';freebie'; from the person I bought a dryer from this past weekend. It's a good looking Whirlpool washing machine (model: LBR4132JQ1)
It appears to have the Timer Control device (what the large selector knob attaches to) jammed. I looked up the part new from Sears, and it's selling for $100. I see them used on eBay for $50 (part # 3946451).
I just called Sears to come out this weekend to ';diagnose and repair'; the washing machine. It's costing $75 for the repair call, and if I let them repair it, they will credit the $75 towards the labor/parts cost. Is this something I can easily fix myself, or is it a good idea to pay them to come out, diagnose it, and pay to have it replaced?
My other option was ';for $215, we will cover all parts/labor on this service call'; which I declined. The fact is, I can buy a new washing machine for less than $300, I don't want to get in too deep on this...

The part number I get for that model is 3951166 not 3946451, so there is some obvious confusion. You state that the timer is jammed. Is it possible that the timer knob has ';screwed through the plastic knob'; and it is the knob that is jamming? I have had that problem once or twice. Most places have a policy of no returns on electrical components that are installed (even briefly). Question...why would you call Sears to come out when just about any independent contractor is familiar with Whirlpool? Sears is one of the most expensive ways to go in my opinion.

Call any appliance parts store, they should have access to the timer if they don't have it in stock. I have the ';Ultimate Care II'; model and for some reason, no water is coming in on the hot water setting but did on the warm setting, but even that has stopped now!
What could the problem be?

Unscrew the water lines where they come into the machine. There should be a small screen like filter on each of them. They are probably clogged.If so, all you have to do is clean them and put them back. Don't run the machine without them!!!WHIRLPOOL Top loader, Washing machine, Water problems!?
remove the hose off the back and there is a screen to filter out contaminants,clean this off and that should fix the problem ..If not the hot water solenoid may be bad.
Make sure the hot and cold shut off valves are all the way on(ccw). If they already are, then turn the hot and cold shut-off valves to the machine off. Disconnect the hoses at the machine and see if the screens are clogged up. If they are, clean them. If not, a service person needs to be called.
if you have well water you might have sediment in your water. It doesn't take much to clog the screens. Here is what we did 1. had a whole house filter put on after the well pump. 2. Had a second filter put on before the hot water heater. Be sure to drain the sediment out of your water heater if you have one with a tank. (we have a tankless water heater now). First of all I am only 14 yrs old and am asking this question for my mom so dont give me any bull ****.

We payed $900.00 to get a new washing machine and we are begining to think it isnt worth it.
on our old washing machine we were able to choose the water level, but on this one we cant. It is supposed to set it its-self, but when it fills it dosent cover the clothes with water, so we think it isnt exactly cleaning the clothes. Then in the begining it soaks the clothes, but once again instead of it filling up with water and letting it sit. it sprays it with water.
QUESTION: do we have a defected washing machine?

Ya probably ought to call a repair man to come and look at it.
could be the belt gone on it or computer circuit faulty or switches.you should get British gas service insurance which covers everything in your house appliances for only 18 pounds a month
it may be the cold inlet valve,you will need a multi meter to check the valve,you could try setting the program to spin you should be able to here the pump,if not you may have a blockage in the pump hope this helps.

it may be the cold inlet valve,you will need a multi meter to check the valve,you could try setting the program to spin you should be able to here the pump,if not you may have a blockage in the pump hope this helps.

My Whirlpool cloths washing machine vibrates like it is going to exploid when it is in the drain cycle. It is level so this is not the problem. We bought Whirlpool's Inglis washer %26amp; dryer when they were on sale (at Best Buy). The washer has been fine so far. The dryer had the heating element go out within the first year we had it. Ummm.... Aside from that they've been alright.

One thing with Whirlpools is they will leak when the tub is leaning forward towards the front off the machine, if you stick your hand and feel the top of the tub at the back you will feel how the lip is very shallow to allow room for the water supply, if the tub is leaning forward the water will leak over the tub and onto the floor. This has always been an issue with whirlpools but not a major one, just make sure the yub isn't leaning when you start.
If thats not it you can remove the outer shell of the washer buy, first unplug it, removeing two skrews on each end of the console, if it's an older washer they will be at the front bottom of the console, if it's newer they are on the back. Once you remove them the console will flip up and you will see a quick connect wire connection to the right, unplug that the on both sides you will see gold clamps, take a flat head skrew driver and pry the front of the clamp by sticking the skrewdriver straight down and push towards the back, it will pop right off then all you have to do is grab the back of the shell and tip it toward you until its at a 45 deg. angle and then slide the whole shell straight out and set it aside. Now you can inspect the fill assy. on the back to the right you will see the inlet valves, the back of where the hoses connect, coming out of the bottom of that you will see a black hose that runs to the spout that fills the tub. You won't be able to fill it so you will have to inspect it good. When you find the leak you can get the parts at your local appliance parts supply. They are easy to fix.
When you go to put it back together make sure you have the shell at a 45 deg angle before you slide the shell on, it has to go under the base at the front and then tilt it back into position, put the gold clamps back on and then the wire connection and then the console.
You can't just remove the top on a whirlpool you must remove the whole shell, which is nice because it's easy for one and it makes it easier to repair. Take the front Panel off or half off so you can see the inside of the machine ie: the drum, pulleys, belt, ect. At the bottom right or sometimes left is the water pump. Start your washer on its cycle and look at the pump to see if you see any water. Also check every other place that you are able to see. If it is the pump it is easy to change, a couple screws, the wiring connection plugs right into the pump, and a couple of clamps.

Sometimes the water-inlet valve develops a buildup of mineral deposits and rust. To check this, remove the water-inlet valve and visually inspect the surface.
There is a cool product that is designed to help prevent water damage from a leaky washer. It's called a Washer Floor Tray. This tray catches water leaks and prevents floor damage from overflows. This product is a must for upstairs laundries.

We payed $900 dollars for it and my mom thinks it is a waste. It turns our clothes mainly jeans into big wrinkles! I cant get them out! not even my dryer can!

How do I clear the pump on a Whirlpool AWO/R front loading washing machine?
We have been given a Whirlpool AWO/R 4205 washing machine (second hand) and a red warning light keeps appearing which states ';Clean Pump';. I have tried opening the screw-in plug at the bottom front of the machine, but this only seems to work for a short while. Please help, I'm busted and can't afford an engineer.How do I clear the pump on a Whirlpool AWO/R front loading washing machine?

I had a problem where the pump would not drain the tub as fast. I ordered a new pump, and when I was removing the old pump, I found a quarter and nickel in the front of the pump.
You will need to remove the back panel and look for the pump on the bottom of the machine. It should have a rubber hose from the tub going to the pump. The hose will be held on with a clamp. Remove the clamp, and see if you can identify any objects in the pump inlet (lint, coins, stones, etc.). Remove any found objects and hook the pump back to the tub.

Run the hot water in your sink (or whatever faucet is nearest the dishwasher) until the water actually comes out hot before you actually START the dishwasher, so that you don't get a half-load of cold water, and be sure that your hot water heater is set high enough to do some good.

Remove two phillips head screws on the top panel and swing up. You will see two clips, insert phillips screwdriver in and remove the two clips. Disconnect the wire harness ( that's for door switch) now you can tilt the whole cabinet towards you. Below the drum, you will see the water pump, it has two clips holding in place, remove clips and expose motor clips, remove harness and clips from motor. Once you remove motor, you will see motor coupling. This is a relatively easy project. It takes longer to explain than it takes to do. There should be several screws on the back to remove the back panel. Once that is done, look for clips or screws to remove the control panel (mines on top at the back). You may not have to remove the top that surrounds the tub, but again there should be clips and/or screws to do that. Just look under the lip and see if you find any. Taking the back off should reveal the guts of the machine.. good luck! Oh yeah.. turn off the power and water before you start this!

The water stayed in the drum like yours and always had a bad smell, I hated that washer, what a rip off. I bought a top loading Whirlpool for less than what it would take to fix the Maytag!
You need to call a repairman and have them bring a new waterpump for your washing machine. A trained technician will be able to replace the pump and your problem should be solved immediately.

This requires you to look at the wiring diagram and then at the actual wiring to see if there is another fault in wiring from timer to solenoid valve as there may be a second wiring from board to solenoid valve that is loose. If all is tight, you need to use a volt meter to validate presence or absence of voltage and why this may be the case.
Another thing to check is the switch that selects hot vs warm vs cold wash water. It may be that the fault is in this switch - and the switch may not apply the voltage to cold water solenoid due to switch malfunction. There is one 5/16'; nut that holds the motor bracket to the floating base of the machine with a slot for it to slide and relieve tension on the belt. Loosen the nut so the motor assembly can swivel to the right looking from the back. Put the belt back on all three pulleys and swivel the motor back to the left and while holding the motor bracket to tension the belt tight tighten the nut to keep the motor in place.
If you need to replace the belt the instructions to do so are on the bag the belt comes in.
