Whirlpool Washing Machine Quit Spinning?

The machine agitates fine, drains fine but won't spin. I can maneuver the drum to where the clutch catches and then it will spin but only when about a half a load is in it or it is empty. Help?Whirlpool Washing Machine Quit Spinning?

The lid safety switch is broken. It's located under the top panel on the right side of the tub. Call your local parts store with the model number as there's 3-4 different ones costing $25-35. Here's a link to the repair instructions.

If your washing machine is close to or 10+ years old; invest in a newer one. By the time you pay to have it fixed that money could have been invested in a more trouble free machine.
