My whirlpool washing machine will not drain?

i removed a sock from the water pump, and then reassembled, however now there is a low hum that seems to be coming from the start switch. (or the top control panel). i removed the water pump and the shaft on the motor, and the fins in the water pump move freely, any suggestions?My whirlpool washing machine will not drain?
the motor might have burned out when the sock got stuck in it. but if a sock made it to the pump you have other problems. by the time you replace the pump and or solenoid and find out how the sock made it to the pump you should by a new one.My whirlpool washing machine will not drain?
There's a starter capacitor for the motor up in the console, you might try checking that. Otherwise, you may very well have lost your motor.
check leads to ground, if it ohms outloud, ';beep'; its garbage. Good luck
